Working in the public schools, doing a residency, I did a drawing of 3 views of 3 cups, demonstrating that from the side the top/bottom appear flat; as you raise yourself higher they curve and from high enough you can see inside, even the bottom. I asked them then to draw the 3 cups, to copy my drawings. Invariably & delightfully they drew the bottom flat. The left cup has been scraped, something that become more prominent during the next few years, scraping and rubbing/wiping with rags. ... back ... next
