This pre-figures the later children's appropriations. My partner at
that time was working at NMU and somehow encountering children's
drawings and bringing home stacks of'em. May have been the psychology
department? So this painting 'popped up' around this time. I was living
in my home town, attending the college there, working toward a B.S. in
the art department - after having dropped out of Layton School of Art
in Milwaukee, painting on my own for a year and a half then traveling
for 8 months: France, Germany, Spain, Morocco, Canary Islands, Mexico...
