Ash Can School © 1990 Tom Ferguson Still have it. oil on found wood box, 11 3/4 x 8"
Returning to the Ash Can School that I was infatuated with before Post-Impressionism. When I quit art school in 1969 I was
painting restaurant interiors, street scenes... drawn to the work of
Hopper, Sloan, Bellows, an intuitive identification and sympathy
with the working class, the common people. I don't exactly fit in but
there's something about the Waffle House staff and customers.
