on canvas, 10 x 10" This prefigured the Head series by five
years or so but I had stepped out of what I was doing to do a
self-portrait before though it was more often in a sketch book than on
canvas. I impulsively gave this to some friends as a wedding gift and
years later they gave it back thinking Cyndia should have it rather
than them. They requested a portrait of Nietzsche instead. Funny. I
hadn't really thought of it as a self portrait but as a painting. Oh to be young again....
