play based on the idea of juxtaposing disparate objects, each
bringing their implications along, meeting, maybe clashing, but
producing new implications. This was in a show at the Atlanta
Artworker's Coalition. I found the box of text & started
arranging the letters in a sentence. It uncannily came out to
make sense and to be a philosophically meaningful statement,
even tho many letters were missing & I had to substitute
etc; I still have the piece but I spilled the type one day &
have never tried to re-assemble it. The post cards came from
friends in New York when they found i'd moved south. The key
came from the 1920 house we bought in Grant Park.
