From 1969 through 1974 I kept one-a-day drawing
books. My daily routine for those years ended thus: brush the teeth,
write in my journal, do my drawing. I diligently stayed to the
experiment for five years, missing only the occasional session. After
1974 my sketch booking became less systematic.
It has been a multi-layered treat to review those
daily musings more than thirty years later, and a pleasure to share a
sampling here. They reflect the range of what I was reading, thinking
and experiencing at the time. The cover drawings are loose
interpretations of one of those within, a different image for each
box/book - twenty again.
This collection of twenty drawings selected from
those done on the twentieth of the month, in an edition of twenty
photocopies, provides a playful structure for the Museum of
Contemporary Art Georgia Multiple project. I am
grateful to the Artist Resource Council (ARC) of MOCA/GA for the
opportunity to publish this limited edition,
