I arrived at the Modern Museum in Paris late in the afternoon, 1971, near closing time so I had to nearly
run through the place. This gave me an insight into Kandinsky I was maybe ready for, given my studies to
that date. In any event I "got it" as a walked very fast past his work, getting glimpses of imagery that I finally understood
was analogous to music, self-referential, symphonic, joyous, celebratory - of color, of shape, of imagination.
