In the 70s I looked at Kandinsky and produced quite a few paintings based on the idea of point-to-line-to-plane which for me was letting a line meander, cross back over itself and create shape, pattern. This idea I come back to occasionally, in this case on the rear of one of those backings that postage stamps are sold with, thus the tongue-in-cheek title. I mounted this one on a found board & added a hanging wire w/eye bolts. Exhibited it in one of Ben Applebaum 's Looks Good on Paper shows at Spruill Gallery. With Eckhart Tolle's notion of the NOW now entering my vocabulary, I can utilize the cliche, RIP for Ben, without embarrassment.  back ... next
