small drawing which I immediately appropriated. Later, when Joe saw the painting we figured out that it had somehow
gotten in the letter, intentionally I mistakenly assumed. It was a love note to his spouse after a spat. I began about this time
working modularly, that is, working on the same size canvas for a series, which lasted about seven years, w/some acceptions.
