Oil on tongue & groove pine 25 x 29" I did my bathroom floor in tongue & groove & used the leftovers for this panel. I once again stole my daughter's delightful drawing which reminded me so much of Picasso's Family of Saltinbanques & other of his paintings of the early 1900s. I remember first noticing the cubism going on in that painting and being amazed by it. And the narrative, the drama of looking out the window, passing this scene on the road, this grouping of people and then they're gone and you're further down the road, deeper in time... and the painting gives you that view and at the same time is that too, back down the road, a marker in time. |
